Swiss Cottage lies next to St John's Wood and just to the north of Regent's Park. This small community has some prestigious shops and businesses, which proudly put them on the map. Transport

West Hampstead

You would have to be a determined walker to stride all the way to Hampstead Heath, which is on the far side of Hampstead from West Hampstead (though it's only a very short car journey). West Hampstead has the superstores which Hampstead lacks, including a Waitrose, Habitat, Sainsburys, Homebase and the O2 entertainment centre.

Within walking distance, there is even one of London's oldest cricket grounds and alongside it - that rarity nowadays - grass tennis courts.

There's an eclectic mix of homes; grand houses and villas with gardens, mansion flats and modern apartments, in fact, something for everyone, in fact. Much of it was built in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods and many of the houses display splendid bay windows and pointed gables.
